Request to cancel a pending PvP Link and Settle

Overview

A Link and Settle request can be cancelled if the original request is still in a pending state. Where a request is linked to a counterparty request, it can only be cancelled when there are insufficient funds to complete settlement. Depending on whether the request has been linked to a counterparty request, messaging received upon cancellation may differ.

To cancel a Link and Settle request, you should use the Cancel L&S Request API. Both the UETR and LinkIdentifiers from the original request must be provided in the cancellation request.

Process

1. Initiate a Link and Settle request, which is in pending state

2. Initiate a Cancel Link and Settle request, using the separate Cancel Request API

3. RTGS.global verifies that the original request exists and is in a pending state, and cancels the request accordingly

4. You will receive pacs.002 status update to confirm the outcome of the cancellation request, and the specified counterparty receives a pacs.002 status update to confirm the new status of the original request
